    St. John’s Wort is a yellow-flowering perennial herb indigenous to South-East Europe, which has been introduced to many areas of the world with different climates and it grows wild in many meadows. The common name comes from its traditional flowering and harvesting on St. John’s day, 24th of June. The flowers and the leaves are used in medications manufacturing industry. St. John’s Wort contains many beneficial active ingredients.

    The herb has following properties:

    Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, astringent, antiseptic and dermagenic

    Internal use:

    St. John’s Wort is most commonly used for depression and conditions that are, sometimes, associated with depression such as tiredness, loss of appetite and insomnia. Other uses include: heart palpitations, moodiness and other symptoms of menopause. It assists with quitting smoking, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, migraine, muscle pain and irritable bowel syndrome. It is also used for cancer, HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C treatments.

    External use:

    St. John’s Wort is used to treat skin problems such as: first degree burns, wounds, bug bites. It reduces scarring, helps prevent infection and skin inflammation, muscular rheumatism bruises, hemorrhoids pain and swollen veins. Blending with Pot Marigold heightens effectiveness in treating bruises.
